folks, use here, if could. few weeks ago, got used mac pro 1.1 in excellent shape. came 2 video cards, 1 of in system right , nvidia quadro fx 4500, 512 mb of memory. had ox-x 10.6.something installed, upgraded 10.7.5 without problem , running fine. intentions machine use photography, running aperture. @ moment, using imac (early 2009) task, mavericks 10.9.5 , aperture 3.5.1. now, issue have 10.7.5 on mac pro, doesn't support aperture 3.5.1, every time copy aperture library imac mac pro, have rebuild it, in order usable aperture version have on mac pro. can frustrating, decided upgrade mac pro mavericks , see how go. after reading several article on net, i've managed create bootable usb drive, used install mavericks 10.9.3 on new disk on mac pro. unfortunately, appears 10.9.3, 8 mb recognized 512 mb nvidia card has. of course, little memory aperture refuses run. tried install 10.9.5 on pro, again, works fine, except 8 mb of memory

dear sufferrers: received ipad model a1430 son recently. while using device, update ios 8.1 popped on screen asking if update. did want update , pressed button so. tool long time update download when did download, started installing. installation got 9\10ths of install, , froze. let sit overnight , in morning install had not moved forward shut down device , later attempted turn on device. got rectangle on black screen thin strip of red @ beginning of rectangle. went away, , have useless ipad. new second coming of christ can see how disappointed apple folks. issue? dead battery cost me lots of hard earned cash fix? if hands on scruffy kid in pc vs mac ads, i'm gonna choke him. respectfully, james   plug computer, hold power , home button ten seconds, release power button until itunes pops , says it's in recovery mode. then, restore.

hello, own mid-2009 15'' macbook pro. "upgraded" hard-drive seagate momentus xt 750gb. of may know (i got find out recently), seagate hybrid hard drives have compatibility issue macbooks. overheat computer, , notably cut down battery life more half. battery life before switching hdd @ 7,5hours. after, 3 hours. figured out problem hdd itself, removed , put normal wd 5400rpm one. expecting battery life go normal, surprise it's still @ 3hours when full, while going 3,5 - 4 hours coming down again. battery permanently damaged?? appreciated.   are still using mid 2009 battery? 3 hours isn't terrible. don't know, maybe overheated it, 3 hours 2009 battery isn't terrible.   Forums Macs Notebooks MacBook

2011 2.7 ghz i5 27" imac on 10.9.5, 12 gb ram, stock 1 tb wd 7200rpm, 50% full, video/pics/audio. when new, used brag pc friends 5 sec shut down time , 35 sec boot , online time. 4 relatively trouble-free years later, i'm shutting down in 35 sec , booting , online in 2:25 . disk drill / smart there nothing wrong hd, , permissions in order. if case, maybe purge & reinstall key restore earlier performance (of course, mavericks too). assuming in need of cleaning /defrag / reinstall, preferred method maintain data , apps, while losing clutter? run time machine, ccc, , backblaze, think everything, including garbage, yes? i've got loads of (legit) software including add-ons, extensions, scripts, etc. i'm not sure how corral, plus whatever i've got running parallels/windows. however, ssd prices continue drop, e.g. see samsung 840 evo 1tb under $400, i'm wondering if might easier migrate wd ssd (other install, of course). wouldn&

one of reasons why got 6+ camera's capabilities in low light. in experimenting this, found that, yes, camera pretty (for phone camera) in low light. seems have problem overexposing bright areas, lights. instance, taking picture there's single lamp turned on in room dark cause lamp way overexposed, point of being totally washed out. cameras 1 degree or another. "real" camera, can compensate fiddling aperture , film speed , on. (i'm not expert on this, obviously.) want picture looks eye sees. that's tough standard, , there may no camera of type provides in low light. 6+ @ in sunlight , lighted scenes. want same level of quality in lower light scenes, too. know camera fixed @ f/2.2, aperture can't changed. know how change other "camera" settings better low light pictures it? being able soften overexposure of bright objects help.   just touch finger in area

hi, osx seems have functionality detect , prevent accidental clicks. i'm not sure if feature or bug. if it's former, there way disable it? best way can describe/demonstrate i'm talking open menu, click away close menu, try click in same spot again. second click on thing under cursor doesn't register. if move mouse little, still doesn't register. moving mouse away quickly, isn't enough. need click somewhere else first. e.g., - open finder , show toolbar. - right-click toolbar , choose customize. - click open "show" menu in bottom left (the "icon only," etc. menu). - menu still expanded, click "done" button. menu close. - without moving cursor, click "done" button on , over. nothing happens. here video of above procedure: https://vid.me/umvn   edit: remove identifying info not relevant conversation.

hey there, sorry thread on i'm looking input of own 15-inch macbook pro retina display. i'm looking @ purchasing 1 of these models in next 2 months (likely towards end of february end of march depending on finances) upgrade 13-inch non-retina mbp, , i'm kind of torn between 2 options. part, lot of multi-tasking... includes standard stuff web browsing, email, listening music, photography , tend shoot raw i'm editing in adobe lightroom fair amount. bit of technical support stuff , such possibly run couple virtual machines (not @ same time). bit of web design , coding , then. bit of gaming, although not lot... play starcraft 2 , diablo 3, , tend running @ decent resolution medium/high settings (or higher if possible). how work on retina display in terms of resolution settings? non-retina mbp? happen if use scaled resolution (such 1680x1050 i'm do)? full list of applications run include safari, firefox, mail, messages, facetime, itunes

i'm using 13' retina macbook pro (mid 2014) , starting yesterday have been experiencing unresponsive trackpad acts occasionally. issue occurs halfway through use, , closing lid or rebooting system temporarily resolves issue, trackpad becoming unresponsive again minutes later. option use external bluetooth mouse when trackpad fails, trackpad go out of control , starts moving cursor around , alternating between active applications while ignoring external mouse. i'm curious whether other users experiencing problem. tried apple's support forum, apparently people having issue external trackpad, not built-in macbook trackpad. might similar issue plagued 13' retina macbook pro (late 2013) in 2013 guess.   i know late 2013 13-inch macbook pros had issue keyboard , trackpad freezing fixed efi update. http://www.macrumors.com/2013/11/07...h-retina-macbook-pro-keyboardtrackpad-is
