Adding RAM to Retina iMac

i've been chatting crucial, apparently there 2 memory modules available new imac, 1 high-density, other low-density. apple not specify stock ram (which want add to, stock 8gb 16gb). 1 preferred on other? matter? both same price, btw.

thanks.

i purchased 16gb of crucial amazon last march add 16gb of apple stock (elpida) ram in late 2013 imac. shipped low density (16 chips) variant , ended kernel panics. returned replacement turned out high density , haven't had single problem since.

alone far evidence density had relevance problems, except i've read of others having stability issues low density crucial. of course, ymmv.

stranger still, stock apple elpida low density. but, mentioned, i've been running strong @ 32gb year now.
