Options for Recording Digital Piano

i have roland fp-7f. sing , play piano (think piano man) , want start recording. have macbook pro focusrite audio interface. mic set interface no issues there.

question concerns best option recording piano sound garageband (through audio interface). of roland has midi connection options. read elsewhere on here using midi cables diminishes quality of sound rather fancy roland has offer. i've never used midi , never recorded piano don't know. want record piano audio tracks on garageband, layer voice on over separate tracks. better then, connect roland audio interface using 1/4 inch audio cord? if so, should on other end? is, (a) m-m audio cord; (b) m audio midi cord; or (c) other cord?

suppose option connect roland directly macbook pro usb cable or something, i'm not going through audio interface.

appreciated.

to record actual piano sound sample roland, should take line out , go directly 1/4" line input of interface. using midi or usb connection makes keyboard act controller garageband software sounds.
