i have transcend 256gb ssd370 i've been trying run on imac installed yosemite on , booted via usb hdd enclousre see if worked, did. proceeded open imac , swap internal hd ssd, when powered worked. however, after few minutes start umbrella , freeze, after restart took ages load up, when did started freeze , umbrella again. refused boot ssd, , grey screen , nothing. i've updated firmware latest , wiped , tried again, checked status on windows machine , worked fine. not sure else try?   according transcend product sheet ssd have, doesn't mention whether backwards-compatible sata2, connection imac has. buy ssd better suited older imac: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/internal_storage/ssd/mercury_electra_3g_solid_state   Forums Macs Desktop

hi, i'm new here, first post. please advise if there's better place post etc. i've got 2008 imac running lion, trying 210 gb (mostly photos on 320 gb drive) ccc little seagate usb portable external drive, i've done many times before no problem, time it's taking frickin' forever! it's taking 10 seconds copy hundredth of gb, 10 times slow compared ccc's figures on troubleshooting page. it's taken on 19 hours copy 67 gb. don't know significance of this, activity monitor shows cpu on 90% idle , disc activity has tall green spikes marching across little screen. i've made big change, switching adsl wimax, don't see why should affect backing up. other thing can think of tried clean folder structure in lightroom 5 little bit. had folder called "pictures" inside folder called "pictures" , couldn't figure out how rename inside folder (when right-clicked on it, there no rename option), crea
