Installing SSD in 2008 iMac - Strange problem

i have transcend 256gb ssd370 i've been trying run on imac

installed yosemite on , booted via usb hdd enclousre see if worked, did.

proceeded open imac , swap internal hd ssd, when powered worked.

however, after few minutes start umbrella , freeze, after restart took ages load up, when did started freeze , umbrella again.

refused boot ssd, , grey screen , nothing.

i've updated firmware latest , wiped , tried again, checked status on windows machine , worked fine.

not sure else try?

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
