hi! reading forum years , now... registered because problem (ouch!) ... wonder if can help.... imac shuts down randomly since installed yosemite. happen when i'm doing something, opening safari, launching app... system doesn't shut down if don't touch it. made investigations.... - re-install mavericks , snow leopard , problem remains. not related yosemite @ all. - apple hardware test (the long one) says there's no problem piece of hardware (the imac didn't shuts down while performing test). - there's nothing plugged mac, problem not related peripherals. - there's no pattern system log. last messages recorded before system shuts down different (no errors). - temperature registered in sensors fine, fans working properly. - have ups unit current should nice , protected. so... can shuts down fault of power supply unit? can switch on mac after shut down without problem. there's way test psu before pay new 1 (expensive p

my recent (2012) macbook pro failed , catastrophically last week "invalid b-tree node size error" (a solid freeze , forced restart seems have done it). after forum perusing, purchased , ran diskwarrior on drive minimal success. able create new index allowed me save few of files had not been backed up. of user directory contents not restored diskwarrior-created index, didn't save changes diskwarrior had made. non-backed-up files aren't worth paying full data recovery service, if there's still hope restore them software, willing pay $150 apple asking return drive me after full applecare replacement. so, that's question. b-tree error, there still hope if diskwarrior has failed?   diskwarrior has "hidden features" might helpful situation. please take following discussions in link. http://www.techsurvivors.net/forums/lofiversion/index.php?t14569.html

i purchased mophie gold battery case iphone 5s supposed recharge 5s @ 100% once deplete battery charge 5s @ 0%. 1 purchased sold $99.99. mophie case $79.99 charges @ 80%. months ago, purchased 1 @ best buy , charged @ 60%, returned it. because case, repurchased exact same case @ nordstrom couple weeks ago. recharge 5s @ 62% when deplete 0-1%. obviously, there's consistency of 60% charge both cases. think i'm losing 40% charge these battery cases because takes me 3-4 days utilize charge after deplete charge 5s? i'm not huge data user, therefore can go without charging 5s 3-4 days.   the 1 charges 100% not charge 100% because last 20% (when phone @ 80 , needs charge 100%) uses more power so. why mophie says in instructions change 80% , shut off battery. way still have power battery in case need again. battey case says charge 80% (the cheaper battery case) 50-60% in real world before
