i'm windows user , saving mac. have £1k saved far (its taken while that) wondering if should buy mac mini or keep going retina imac?
normal everyday computer activities plus occasional photoshop, indesign, illustrator, word , excel. of them all, photoshop used frequent , word/excel least frequent.
thinking of buying top end 2014 mac mini because @ least has fd standard , upgrading ram, pity can no longer myself hey ho. i've looked on ebay 2012 i7s either have smaller hard drives i'd or sellers want stupid money them or both.
haven't entertained idea of mpb have no need portability , size i'd want (15") doesn't have price difference (with exception of refurbished) 27" imacs may bypass them go straight imac.
brings me question @ start, should buy mm or keep going retina imac?
have got monitor using mac mini? real question. if have 1080p or 4k display lying around go mm. oh thinking of doing upgrades later? new mms have ram soldered logic board won't able upgrade them later.
need retina on imac? why not go 27" refurb model? retina may nice people suited qhd (2k) display on 27" day.
know discounted 15" mbpr great machine you, has display want, power , have battery (potentially) take you. reason have discount if had macbook air or , old pro meaning didn't need it.
thought...
anyway, if money go imac because has nicer display (even non-retina ones). had macbook air used use external monitor have since not touched monitor because feel macbook air's screen, although smaller, has better colour accuracy , feels nicer. every time started monitor had adjust settings , wasn't perfect. imac has beautiful display laminated makes better.
