which upgrade for a 2011 MacBook Pro

so current setup 2011 13 inch mbp 2.7ghz i7. has 8gb of ram , samsung 830 128gb ssd. ive noticed on past couple of months starting slow down bit , noticed i've been running low on ram quite bit lately. plan put either 840 evo or 850 pro 250/6gb replace small 830. i'm planning on putting 16gb of ram in it. recommend replacing first, ram or ssd? technically both @ same time rather in chunks. 2011's came 1333mhz memory , saw 1600mhz memory cheaper , "compatible" 1333mhz logic boards. okay using ram?

when running low on ram mean?

seeing low free ram or high page-ins , page-outs?

free ram wasted ram in os x. how swapping swap file(s) slow computer down.

didn't you're running hard if need more ram, people 8 gb more enough. ssd quite fast, there's not else can speed computer up.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
