hi everyone! i've used imac without problem on router-managed local network, effortlessly accessing windows pc's shared folders , synology nas. working on nas via smb slower mac if compared pc, acceptable , moving files mac pc fast. until today, is. didn't touch or change anything, can copy or move small files. if try moving big files, mac takes ages calculate remaining time , gives estimates 3 hours 1gb, advancing mbs every once , , (apparently) doing nothing inbetween. takes long cancel transfer, should tell clicking tiny x on file transfer window. tried pinging windows machine , around 0.35ms, looks normal me. idea what's gone bogus , why? or maybe more tests run? in advance!   Forums Macs Mac Basics and Help iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes

my galaxy s4 has been letting me down lately , i'm thinking of getting iphone 6 or 6 plus. if made transition can tell me how battery life is? thank   i switched (skt) samsung galaxy s4 lte-a iphone 6 plus. prior s4 lte-a, used iphone 4s. absolutely loved s4 lte-a, lte super fast, , battery life great until after year of use. then, didn't hold charge long. love current iphone 6 plus well. battery life unlike other device have ever used. can through full day of heavy use , still have 10-20% of battery left. there things miss s4; however, iphone 6 plus welcome change. if thinking changing , going ios, go it. glad did. have been using apple products years, macs, ipads, ipods, , iphones. welcomed change android, great experience. think going ios nice way keep things fresh. have enjoyed galaxy note 4, however, think wouldn't have been of change excite me since interface of s4 , note 4 similar.

hi all. on mid-2011 27" imac running yosemite 10.10.1, have 3.1 ghz intel core 5, 8gb memory 3 external drives. since going mavericks yosemite, have had nothing problems itunes intermittently starting/stopping. during this, hard drive crashed , replaced @ local citymac store. anyway, i've tried disabling wifi, dropbox, google drive, icloud, i've tried turning off genius , match, i've tried reinstalling, i've copied playlist on hard drive (it on 1 of external hard drives) no avail. other applications seem work, although i've been getting spinning beach ball more care since hard drive replaced. hard drives functioning normally. i've repaired disk permissions in safe mode , reset pram well. i've been on apple forums no answers. suggestions appreciated frustrated issue!   Forums Macs Mac Apps and

hi can this. bought new macbook pro. decided copy on old documents via migration assistant, thought re-install fresh copies of software. used migration assistant on wifi (forgot buy thunderbolt ethernet cable). problem process crashed 1 minute go (left hour @ point still saying 1 minute). can not find of files or folders, when @ settings , storage have 131 gigs of 'other stuff'. mbp purchased yesterday fresh install of yosemite. old documents not have been more few gigs. tried cleanmymac2 has not found much. ideas of mystery 131gigs is?   my opinion, , mine only: if going "reinstall fresh copies" of software, don't need migrate that. , if old documents total "not more few gigs", why don't use usb flash drive , "copy them on manually".... ??? final thoughts: might need migration assistant "bring over" email accounts

hello all, , thank reading problem. have old 2008 macbook. ran fine, no problems, thing tank. use phd dissertation. last week installed yosemite on it, , starts fine first boot up, work done , go sleep. typical night (other putting new os on). next morning, won't start. @ all. when power button pressed lights second, optical drive makes bzzzt (typical start noise) fans start second , heard hard disk , shuts down. nothing screen @ all. if hold down button, lasts 4 seconds before front light blinks , computer goes dead again. i've tried various combinations battery or ac power, used hotkeys (pram reset, assuming on long enough register), , waited several days battery go down bit. nothing, refuses start , have no idea why. nothing has happened it, no drops, no water, no nothing @ between time working fine, , next day not work. charge light , battery both green , no problem there. took out , reinserted memory in case well.
