hi installed ssd in mbp , used ccc copy data old drive new ssd. in doing though appears recovery partitions did not come it. left without recovery partition , require 1 find mac work (among other reasons needing one). wondering if there way create 1 other re-installing os?   to make recovery partition: 1. download lion recovery update http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1464 . make sure in downloads folder. if still happen have yosemite installer app somewhere, right click on , click show package contents. go contents/sharedsupport/. copy installesd.dmg file downloads folder. if don't still have installer, can again redownloading purchases tab in mac app store. 2. download , decompress file recovery.sh.zip http://4unitmaths.com/recovery.sh.zip , move recovery.sh downloads folder if it's not there already. 3. open terminal , type following commands: chmod +x ~/downloads/recovery

i'm 1 of unlucky people had yosemite update go very, bad. after repeat efforts w/ tech help, agreed needed erase drive , clean install. found way salvage data! last 21 days ago, had quite bit of data going lost. here's did: 1. restart computer in safe mode. 2. you'll asked enter name , password if you're registering new account. 3. screen might give off weird wobbly effect, don't worry it. 4. set icloud if need to. didn't have account set up, able in safe mode. of course, need have icloud set on second computer or phone. otherwise won't you. 5. add files want salvage icloud. don't forget little things bookmark plist or itunes library files play counts , playlists. 6. it's okay if files exceed icloud's storage capacity. had move stuff off of icloud mac air wanted transferred. move files out of icloud , 2nd device, new space opens on icloud. 7. monitor uploads on 2nd device. upload spee

hi guys, month ago, visited relative's house , came corrupted laptop. frozen when waking up. when held down power button shut if off , turn on, laptop unable locate bootable drive (flashing folder w/ "?"). show stop/prohibitory sign. restored time machine backup, reset pram , smc, problem still persisted. ended clean install mac bootable usb w/ yosemite. problem solved. until... weekend, went again , connected wifi do. same problem happened. started standard procedure reseting pram/smc didn't fix anything. tried clean install time wasn't able erase hd before performing installing process , internal drive went missing. had restarted mbp couple times before detected drive. erased , clean installed os x. it's been day , half , mac seems running fine. there little hiccups here , there (or many i'm paranoid). while solving problem, noticed 1 thing... every time connect relative's wifi (only there wifi), mac
