Mac Mini '12 - New 1600 mem runs @1333, what gives?

any ideas folks. upgraded ram 2 x 8gb stick of 1600mhz pc3l , system reporting it's mhz speed 1333.

ideas / tips?
 

further update. (to note) these sticks packaged , sold paired.

both 8gb sticks in inserted in either mem slot when used solo run @1600mhz when both insereted (regardless of slot) make full 16gb clock down 1333mhz.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
