i bought new 27" asus pb278qr monitor imac (27-inch, mid 2011) thunderbolt. had mini displayport dvi adapter when use that, 1920x1080 resolution , not expected 2560x1440. have learned due adapter being single link dvi. fair enough! bought hdmi mini display port cable @ apple. worked worse. i'm not sure resolution was. picture looked terrible. returned cable. bought mini-displayport adapter cable . did not work @ all. when plug in, monitor goes black, shows picture half second, goes black again. there nasty noise speakers. called store , send me cable of same type. have yet receive it. must doubtful. have experience connecting 2560x1440 non-tunderbolt monitor thunderbolt mac? cable did use?   i received replacement cable. , works now! guess faulty cable.   Forums Macs

so i've had rmbp 15" since nov 2012, first time round, had pixel drop on screen , took apple replaced. ssd randomly went, point when start folder '?' sign, took genius bar , reset , checked , there no hardware problem. today, past couple of days...i've had laptop consistently restart when goes sleep. i've reset power save settings default, verified disk permissions, repaired disk partition , on, yet still continues happen. still have applecare of course, don't want drive 30 miles fixed again. i'm running 10.10.1 yosemite on it, 256gb ssd, 8gb ram etc. seems because adopter might have got faulty model has had quite few issues it, i'm kind of frustrated because it's become 6 monthly occurrence whereby goes wrong it. edit: also, other day, had on charge, , when went use, took power adaptor off, didn't want start until put adaptor on. after took off , ran on battery fine.

hi guys, want fix issue once , not sure should do. host emails family domain office 365, know mail.app little sluggish in syncing on ews, hence considering moving imap provider (like fastmail - whom used before), imap works better on mail.app because of idle enabled. however, main issue seems can't have push on ios devices (using imap), , don't want fetch every 15 minutes drain battery. don't need activesync/exchange icloud can handle contacts, calendars, notes, reminders etc, use exchange mail only. hate fact eas doesn't sync drafts too, (imap does) apart icloud / yahoo on ios (eas accounts) seem push options available. maybe can stick out exchange time being, should imap idle becoming ios devices soon? suggestions? i'm @ wits end. tried rackspace out haven't got xlist enabled , it's on bug list not urgent. ok, we're having issue 1 of our ipads , believe has network authentication server , stored password (or somewhere in-between). haven't had issues in past ipad, of sudden are. when unlock ipad, connect wireless network of our business, , open safari, you're either taken our homepage or page displaying "blocked page" websense error. app should asking authentication (much joining public network), it's not. can authentication credentials box pop every once in while, still can't access 99.9% of internet. user's credentials set in websense able visit webpage. there stored file somewhere in keychain or not releasing it's login information? it's ipad has credentials logged accessing wifi network , different set of credentials logged websense filter. strange. also, used ipad @ hotel , able securely connect our network vpn in ios, however, not able use safari... kept loading page indefinitely. ideas or suggestions welcomed , ap

so added home folder called "alex" sidebar in finder since user name , noticed folder called com.apple.ic , can't go away. have searched on web , every terminal command hide folder won't work , it's locked i'm guessing it's important can't delete it. it's starting annoy me because folders want show there applications, desktop, dropbox etc etc. every time try command hide it, keeps telling me have no permission , yes before ask, admin on own mac. it's folder i'm not supposed see thats why have no permission anything. if know workaround in terminal or similar, please help, it's annoying me much. note: tried command line tools in terminal no luck.   attached files: screen+shot+2014-10-03+at+13.16.07.png file size: 158.6 kb views: 107
