hi, new here , new mac. have not been using computer several years since ipad , iphone. want mac mini serv storage movie, music, pictures , other documents. want able share music , movies multiple tv's , tablets, no more 3 devices @ time. media server tv's , devices.
have been looking , reading , trying figure out need without getting more i'll ever use. thinking mid mac mini fit needs fine have no idea.
don't game, or intensive stuff.
direction appreciated.
if mac mini dedicated being itunes server entry-level model should more enough. in fact older mac mini fine in role if can find one.
if plan on storing tv shows , movies in library suggest go base model of mac mini without upgrading hard drive , go external usb drives instead store media.
, if prefer small , quiet less heat dissipation, go external 2.5" drives don't require external power. cost more per gb find advantages worth it.
, if go bluetooth keyboard , mouse means have 4 usb ports 4 external drives before need hub, too.
