Mac Pro 2009 NVIDIA 680 issues

hi folks!

i'm @ wits end here. i'm not tech savvy @ left comp in serviced/updated last week. reckon putting money 2009 mac pro unit keep me going 2 more years can new 1 altogether.

basic specs:
mac pro late 2009
2*2.26 quad core
20gb ram (updated last week 16)
still running 10.7.5 forgot mavericks update.

profession:
illustrator - heavy use of photoshop, lightroom. moderate use of in design. light use of illustrator. dont game or have other apps apart standard stuff artist needs filezilla & co.

anyway issues caused called experts messing new ssd drive , permissions other drives. fixing of that.

main issue below:

main thing update old 512 card new nvidia 680 2gb snazzy job. grand. loaded card in (thankfully still have old one). brought home , prepared update yosemite , landed in load of stuff said drives. remoted in , tried fix everything. anyway delay in update in meantime.....

after doing mundane task in photoshop on sunday (master suite 6 installed) screen froze, no getting anything. had force reboot. worked fine again. again today after hour of work same thing happened. force reboot have log file i'll attach @ end (hopefully).

after reading on here , google i've come these conclusions:

1) 680 mac drivers not supported yosemite. have download quadro & geforce mac os x driver release 343.01.01 has not yet been done i'm going bring service people tomorrow anyway re other issues.

2) card whatever reason doesn't work - no idea why (again i'm not tech savvy). cuba not installed don't want mess bootdisk - remember i've drive issue - 1 problem @ time. im nursing drives until tomorrow.

question should them put in old card (it running slow ok) send 680 , see if can 1gb version shipped unit (i know can 1 of these). right seems safest option have massive deadline @ start of december.

, advice welcome. please i'm not expert, nor tech savvy normal english please! :d :d i'm @ wits end, if don't job career suffer badly :-( there may have been tears earlier :-(

eithne
