Macbook Pro Mid 2010 Utility Issues

i have mid 2010 macbookpro updates snow leopard yosemite. still working on few issues. have 4 utilities not open:

activity monitor
airport utility
disk utility
system profiler

following message when try open:
can't use version of application current version of os x. system 10.6.0

there download can update these?

help.

hi,

no need update these 4 apps installed yosemite installer.

try : restart mac , hold cmd + r on chime, in order boot recovery partition.

"mac os x utilities" window shows up, select "disk utility".

select macintosh hd disk on left, , "repair permissions".

quit disk utility , restart, test launching apps.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
