Wifi stable, but slow [even for Verizon DSL]

i used trick clearing out plist files , seemed stabilize connection. that!

however, connection internet slow! i'm on verizon dsl, modem model dsl-2750b. went through setup without problem, tried out test @ speedtest.net, , i'm getting 0.59 mbps on test run. have 3.4 mbps downstream , 0.9 mbps upstream. before upgrade yosemite, getting speed [for dsl].

there can try @ point? i've tried talking verizon , assured me line okay. i've tested wifi using phone hotspot , works perfectly, don't think it's own wifi system files.

perhaps set verizon dsl router wrong? appreciated!

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
