2 Firewire on MacMini via Adapter Works?

hello friends!

first post in forum. fan of apple products longtime , buy macmini core i7 2.3ghz (2013) this:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/fd388ll/a/refurbished-mac-mini-23ghz-quad-core-intel-core-i7

mini have 1 firewire port , 1 thunderbolt. intend purchase professional audio interface focusrite liquid saffire 56's firewire. in specifications found this:

"2 x 6 pin firewire 400 socket - also compatible firewire 800 , thunderbolt"

uses 2 firewire ports run on full capacity, macmini natively has 1 firewire port. question if possible use thunderbolt > firewire adapter have 2 firewire ports on macmini (1 native + 1 adapted):

http://store.apple.com/us/product/md464zm/a/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapter?fnode=51

have information if adapter cause loss of synchronization, down performance or failure when use adapter in thunderbolt port?

thanks,

rpx

[[ uses 2 firewire ports run on full capacity, macmini natively has 1 firewire port. ]]

sure this?

took @ focusrite's info saffire above, , doesn't effect have plug 2 firewire ports on mac "fully" use it.

second firewire port on device appears there "pass-through" purposes -- such connecting firewire hard drive, connecting interface, etc.

post relevant excerpt manual states it's supposed plugged 2 firewire ports?

it's compatible apple's thunderbolt-to-firewire adapter, macs no longer have firewire ports...
