video quality/over scan HDMI vs Mini DP to DVI Mac Mini 2011

i enherited mac mini 2011

first thing did connect h/k amp , got sound working perfectly. thing noticed there tiny tiny bit of overscan.

guess hk did this. tested connect directly tv (that has scan function)

i'm not having issue 2009 mini uses mini dvi dvi , dvi hdmi cable. need use sound via optical cable this.

09' mac mini uses snow leoard, 11' mac mini uses mavericks
tried using overscan lever in mavericks picture became blurry.

My first few hours on Mac Mini 2014: pls help
