Late 2013 rMBP "15 using over 200GB of storage for Apps?

i have rmbp 15" late 2013 512gb pcie-based flash storage drive, , reported amount of used drive space not make sense. screenshot below.

storage summary states 414.81gb free of 499.05gb, calculates 84.24gb used.

below that, reports apps using 231.48gb (this more 84.24gb). have os x yosemite installed few additional apps (xcode, ilife, firefox, , google chrome). how can apps using on 200gb?

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
