FAT file system

hello guys,

i've noticed old usb stick formatted fat32 file system not visible in finder, in disk utility. strange is, i've tried format hdd ms-dos(fat) file system disk utility , worked, disk formatted, again not visible in finder.
can please try if it's problem or general,because worked before in previous os mavericks.

just reformatted 64gb usb ms-dos (fat) in disk utility , it's mounted on desktop , listed in finder sidebar under devices.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
