MacBook Pro 15'' Mid 2010 Memory

hi guys,

have diagnosed macbookpro 6,2 fauly lower memory slot (it locking , beeping 3 times when tried move it). had 4gb of ram in machine , i've had remove 1 of 2gb sticks (from lower memory slot). wondering if possible upgrade machine 8gb of ram using upper slot (only 1 stick of memory). i've seen product on macfixit:
https://www.macfixit.com.au/8-0gb-1-x-8-0gb-owc-pc8500-ddr3-1066mhz-so-dimm-204-pin-ram.html

it's single stick of owc 8gb 1066mhz pc8500 memory, same spec other memory compatible laptop, website states memory compatible macbookpro 7,1, macbook 7,1 , macmini 4,1. there reason other decreased performance (compared having 2 sticks of 4gb) memory incompatible machine? has else tried product in machine other above machines? also, aware of other single stick of 8gb memory work machine?

reading , sorry long post.

it should work

if remember correctly apple officially support 8gb on configuration 16gb fine 1 8gb stick should fine...
