Apple Care Said You Should do a PRAM Reset After Major Updates.

i had question more technically skilled members her. installed yosemite , went fine, remembered few years ago when had issues lion, apple care phone support told me after every major update (even incremental ones 10.10 10.10.1) should pram reset.

seems unnecessary unless you're having trouble. advice helpful?

told me boot in safe mode clear system caches, again seems unnecessary. have low expectations phone support, wondering if there validity these suggestions.

you might repair permissions , reset smc @ same time.

on note, remember in past, recommend zap p-ram 3-5 times in row. more effective once, or continuously pressing "walk" button @ traffic signal?
