2012's future OSX support

might silly question. let's in 5 years time when apple releases new osx (i.e., sequoia), matter if have 2012 i5 or i7 far hardware supported?

in other words, osx updates' system requirements based on hardware release year (i.e., late 2012) or distinguish between processor models of same year? don't think i've ever seen done way, wondering.

at point of our computers obsolete 1 way or other. there might instance of separating between models within release date if reason can't cope (i can't think of instance @ moment) or apple force obsolescence (a lot of examples).

time tell.
