Performance difference between 512 and 1 TB flash drive in iMac?

i'm debating on whether 512 gb or 1 tb internal flash drive retina imac i'm order.

i'm going hook thunderbay iv plenty of storage, don't think need full 1 tb internal drive (since ever have os x , apps on it).

if 1 tb drive faster 512 gb, might consider it. stuff gets expensive, want smart spend upgrade $$.

looks performance difference between 256/512/1 tb flash drives negligible, except in case of small random writes, 512/1tb outperform 256 (but not difference between 512/1tb).

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
