External Hard drive set up HELP!

thanks taking time

bought latest/greatest 27" imac last spring. 32gb ram 3.5ghz i7 chip. wanted , needed fast without getting macpro. edit video professionally final cut x. edited prores422 files....1920x1080 60p

set seems make sense me, computer doesn't seem fast rendering/exporting/displaying should be. beach ball quite few times when hit play on timeline.

here's external hd set up. how should this?

final cut libraries on usb3 drive connected straight imac
final cut video files (all pro-res files) , connected thunderbolt lacie esata break-out box...then esata 7200rpm lacie d2's
final cut project elements (music, stills, isn't video) thunderbolt firewire 800 7200rpm lacie d2

know ideal thunderbolt drives....but until then...

appreciated.

here's did setup:
1. move whatever need internal ssd , use ssd scratch space.

2. once you're done it, move external drive.

external drives (5400rpm) 7 times slower compared internal ssd.
