Big difference between 2.5GHz and 2.8GHz MBP?

i'm going purchasing new 15" retina macbook pros wife , daughter in sneaky attempt prepare grounds justify new mac pro me in couple months.

both gifts upgrades current late 2008 5,1 macbook pros.

wife should plenty satisfied 2.2ghz model use light.

daughter wants processing power can get, think considering she's not gamer or video editor, 2.5ghz model should fine, considering speedy flash drive, quad cores, ram , gpu improvements on last 6 years.

there appreciable difference between 2.5 , 2.8 models?

not of difference, no. way she'll notice difference if pushes laptop really, hard. myself use pretty intensive adobe programs , whatnot , i'm working on 2.4 ghz quad-core i've never gotten point wish had more processing power. don't want assume anything, people won't come close point of noticing difference between 2.5 , 2.8. 2.5 ghz plenty, save money , useful peripherals maybe.

p.s. didn't answer last part. yes there appreciable difference need it, come in handy when running multiple intensive programs @ once. example if did use video editing programs or graphic design programs she'd need it. 2 cents, think more people need reasonable when comes need vs. want. no sense in buying processing power you'll never use. if give examples of uses far programs helpful.

p.p.s admirable plan, sir
