Couple of basic questions regarding file transfers between Windows and Mac OS

so i'm set on getting rimac in few months until i'm still using dell laptop full brim thought maybe getting 2tb external passport drive shift bulk of 500gb of data resides on laptop hard drive on , other files accumulate between , when rimac.

question(s) steps need take make sure hard drive go when rimac arrives? because i'd love plug in , have of stuff there friend has told me it's complicated procedure , nothing i've saved on external hard drive show on mac os due formatting having read online seems if formated drive exfat should ok i'm still not sure. i'm asking people i'm going go pure 256gb ssd option won't have programs , software installed internally practically movies/music/photos etc held externally. welcome.
 

what follows opinion (others disagree).

suggest if intend buy external drive use imac, initialize mac-format (hfs+, journaling enabled).

then, moving files, use different drive "cross-platform formatted" purpose.
example, might use usb flashdrive of sufficient capacity.

not trust cross-platform formatted drive long-term usage mac. perhaps it's superstition on part, i've seen numerous reports here users using such cross-formatted drive macs, , @ point found data went.... "poof!" on them..... gone.

also, if you're first-time "switcher", suggest plan on "period of adjustment", speak, of 4-6 months, during keep old dell "close , accessible". way, if run "adaptation problems" mac, can fall dell until things worked out.

Error installing Key Agent drivers in Windows 7

i reinstalled fresh bootcamp (windows 7 x64) on imac running yosemite. i'm having difficulty installing drivers, had first bypass issue x64bit drivers running through cmd admin errors "service 'key agent/mac hal' (keyagent/machaldrivers) failed start. verify have sufficient privileges start system services." have tried following instructions seemed answer this: i had exact same problem, on 17" mbp. in case, win7 event manager reported bootcamp 3.2 services failed install, in particular keyagent service (and without no apple keyboard , functions , apparently bootcamp icon doesn't show in system tray). event manager said bootcamp installer did not have sufficient permissions, went dial down user account control (uac) settings (in fact, turned off). should have seen when bootcamp 3.2 update running window ask permission continue (allow software install). instead, there silent failure. ok, turning off uac gives p
