Custom pc vs mini 2014 decision

i dont use osx specific , office photoshop web development , basic audio/video edit. concern want run long time 6 years old macbook unibody. have decide week. hard me justify mini. wanted 1 before update confused badly. custom pc option is:

i7 4790 gtx 750 ti 8 gb ram 1 tb hdd 128 gb ssd gigabyte mainboard , mobo windows 8.1

vs

2014 dual core i5 mac mini 16 gb ram + 256 ssd

1300 $
 

a custom pc hackintosh supported hardware can serve years without needing upgrade, can dual boot both needs lot of free time , basic troubleshooting experience, 1000 $ budget should able build great hack.

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
