advice, suggestions on hdd new imac/and user

interested in buying external hard drive imac- frankly, not proficient yet- has been 6 month struggle , lots of youtube tutorials--and response macrumors folks-

think want 1 tb external hard drive connect hub/ or need connect @ usb slot on back?--the hdd should 3.0 , guess know it.--i intend use backup capability have not yet researched- how? etc--and movie, etc storage--yes have looked @ various suggested brands models etc folks have vested interest in moving product suppose--(apple pclassesonline , on)-give me fellow user first hand experience anytime.thank
 

pretty every hard drive maker out there has been bought or merged either seagate or western digital. 1 other.

go buy usb3 drive 1 of 2 in size need best price can get. this or this.

format drive mac os extended (journaled) in disk utility use os x built in time machine program backups.

should not use same drive storing other files, because if drive fails files gone since not backed in second location.

yes, can either directly attach drive usb port on imac, or if have usb3 hub, work also.

ordinarily want buy drive large enough hold 1.5 2x total amount of data expect have allow time machine save versions of files.

Error installing Key Agent drivers in Windows 7

i reinstalled fresh bootcamp (windows 7 x64) on imac running yosemite. i'm having difficulty installing drivers, had first bypass issue x64bit drivers running through cmd admin errors "service 'key agent/mac hal' (keyagent/machaldrivers) failed start. verify have sufficient privileges start system services." have tried following instructions seemed answer this: i had exact same problem, on 17" mbp. in case, win7 event manager reported bootcamp 3.2 services failed install, in particular keyagent service (and without no apple keyboard , functions , apparently bootcamp icon doesn't show in system tray). event manager said bootcamp installer did not have sufficient permissions, went dial down user account control (uac) settings (in fact, turned off). should have seen when bootcamp 3.2 update running window ask permission continue (allow software install). instead, there silent failure. ok, turning off uac gives p
