Yosemite update issue -> iMac freeze and does not boot

dear all,

2 days ago updated imac 27" (mid 2011) os x 10.8.5 mountain lion 10.10 yosemite.

clean installation done via usb, 3 user created 1 admin , 2 standard users (all option increase contrast option on). following software installed:
  • adobe lightroom 5.7
  • datacolor spyder4elite 4.5.8 (monitor calibration)
  • microsoft office 2011
  • playonmac 4.2.5
  • imovie 2.1.1
  • vlc 2.1.5
  • google chrome

after 1 day had first strange reboot, seemed working fine.

today while using it, strange happened: image on screen "shifted" 5cm left, meaning 5cm on left of screen moved right , freezed. power off rebooted.

thinking issue related screen uninstalled , removed spyder4elite.

rebooted , working fine.

after while, screen went blank, see top first 3/4 pixels , recognize top bar. nothing. after while forced reboot.

tried reboot, same appears. turned off bit.

turinig on again following happened:
  1. boot screen
  2. white screen flickering black
  3. black screen
  4. white screen
  5. reboot
  6. white screen stating the computer restarted after error
  7. boot screen pink vertical lines (1.png)
  8. white screen (2.png)
  9. black screen
  10. reboot
  11. start again @ #7

turned off , disconnected plug well. after turning on again starts directly @ point #7 infinite loop.

tried start , hold "d" key diagnostic tools. nothing happens boot , whitescreen.

if hold option key can select boot options, choosing recovery 10.10.1, white screen appears , reboot again.

  • does know happened?
  • does else had similar issue?
  • is there way run diagnostic tool check hardware failures?
  • is there way browse hd content save file?
  • any other suggestions or ideas?

thing have, usb key yosemite on it.

fortunately on external hd still have "install os x mountain lion.app": there way create bootable usb key of mountain lion using windows?

thank kind support,

blp

as not booting , symptoms i'd suggest hardware issue, possibly graphics, rather yosemite issue.

many installs of yosemite going on, random chance make coincidental in time unrelated hardware failure.

think need serviced.
