syslogd using 100% cpu


hi,
looking in activity monitor seems syslogd using 100% cpu , macbook take off!

i've looked @ other threads can't seem find answer - hope can help!

i've attached screenshot of activity monitor - hope has attached.

i've looked @ error log , there huge amounts of messages 3 things:


26/11/2014 10:40:15 activhardware[170] *** __nsautoreleasenopool(): object 0x413770 of class nscfarray autoreleased no pool in place - leaking


there this:

26/11/2014 11:16:17 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.systemstarter) failed count number of files in "/system/library/startupitems": no such file or directory

, this:

26/11/2014 11:17:55 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.aslmanager) throttling respawn: start in 10 seconds

can help?

macbook (13-inch, late 2009)
osx 10.6.8
2.26 ghz intel core 2 duo
 

first check startup items , disable uninstalled programs. plus in activity monitor try shutting runaway process. dowload free program etrecheck , tun it. ever shows in red incompatible , program show delete or update service. reboot.
