Is pulse technology good enough?


i got fitbit surge week , testing pretty @ measuring resting pulse compared hospital-grade pulse oximeter (+/- 5bpm). when doing exercises lot of movement--box jumps, burpees, p90-x type movements--its readings lower , inaccurate compared polar , garmin chest strap monitors. limitation of wrist pulse technology? there reason think apple watch's sensor more accurate? j/w...
 

of course no 1 knows sure outside of apple. i'm skeptical , lots of comparison testing before going awatch (if ever). optical pulse monitoring has lots of technical hurdles overcome , tracking while in motion big one.

apple may have surprise , has perfected optical hr monitoring (hopeful skeptical) way did finger print scanner (although did buy compony).

if not able pair bt hr strap when exercising , use optical rest [pun] of time.
