80gb HDD showing up as 40 on man mini G4

hey guys

found mac mini g4 1.25ghz wifi , bluetooth. decided upgrade ram 1 gb , change 40gb hdd 80gb had lying around. problem mac shows 40gb hdd. know it's not small it's printed on drive. there can reclaim space?
