Installing ssd + old hdd instead of dvd- osx install question

hi

bought samsung 850 ssd drive, replace main hdd drive, install old hdd instead of dvd drive.

ssd 250 gb , old hdd 1tb. clean install of osx on ssd, , keep files have on hdd. possible delete osx old hdd keep files without messing things up? mean, delete everything, except personal files , work. deleting system files etc.

tried googling web , forums here, find answer.

there no way remove os x off hard drive while keeping files intact short of cloning hard drive external, wiping drive, , manually recopying data onto drive.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
