public service announcement: please keep charging iphones in safe area away potential fire hazards.

long story short, found wife's iphone extremely hot , unresponsive after leaving on charger. upon inspection tip of lightning had melted , cable burning hot. after speaking apple senior advisor, confirmed phone had kernel panic , kernel panics can cause iphone cable malfunction , cause melt. seems huge public safety issue, right?

** , before complains accessories using, original apple accessories came iphone in box iphone. there absolutely no third party devices used.

update: received call today executive office of phil shiller(looks checks emails...greatly appreciated). told 1 of people office information given apple rep wrong. said inform apple store i'm coming in appointment weekend , take real @ it. update after happens weekend. , of course told me that, apple store didn't document notes on first visit, doesn't surprise me. i've been told before didn't document hardware issues reported resulting in several phone calls , multiple visits. unfortunate complaining chain seems way them take serious @ phone. kernel panics causing meltdowns?... common genius bar, together.
