SSD and TRIM on Yosemite

about year ago, bought 512gb samsung 840 pro ssd , installed 15" late-2011 mbp. after reading on them, recommended use trim enabler in order keep drive slowing down. went ahead , activated trim time, , it's been active time now.

after time, somehow got turned off believe, , used yosemite dp entirety.

fast forward now, , formatted , installed official release of yosemite. first course of action go re-activate trim. website trim-enabler had tons of people complaining of issues messing laptops. waited few days, , developer has updated , says kekt-signing needs disabled , has added functionality application.

question now:

is major deal if don't bother trim?

i've read articles trim relevant if have older ssd, other ones it's major deal , crazy important.

1 it?

it's not big deal. have ssd has not had trim enabled 3.5 years no noticeable slowdown. 1 has gone 2 years without , has not been noticeably slower either.

leave 10% of space unformatted drive has room work garbage collection.
