Slow speed - Mid 2012 MBP 15" with Samsung 840 OptiBay

hi all,

own mid 2012 15" mbp , running samsung 840 250gb ssd (not evo or pro version) on main bay.

then, decided upgrade 850 pro 256gb , use 840 in optical bay (via ifixit dual drive enclosure).
installed trimenabler , got both drives trim enabled.

however, when ran blackmagic test, following result obtained 840 (the 850 pro performs superbly avg. 520 mb read/write):
write: 50 mb/s
read: 130 mb/s

have formatted 840 ssd mac journaled 1 partition.

may know how 840 work properly.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
