is Maverick still available or do I have to go to Yosemite? (late 2009 iMac)

21.5-inch, late 2009 imac
memory 12 gb 1067 mhz ddr3
graphics nvidia geforce 9400 256 mb
software os x 10.8.5 (12f45)

thinking of upgrading mountain lion, because around october started getting recurring safari crash issues, after using time machine revert clean install of mountain lion. have yet diagnosis of crashes on apple support board, i'm still hopeful.

in meantime, i'm thinking maybe need upgrade os. figured wouldn't push since have older imac, curious if resolve safari issues.

problem is, if hesitant before go maverick, more hesitant leap yosemite.

maverick still available?*
can system handle yosemite?*
