upgrade recommandations for 2007 MBP

i've got 2007 mbp (2.4ghz, 2gb ram), nice 17" 1920x1200 matte screen, i'd upgrade able photo editing. (still) on 10.6.8.

q1: although officially supporting max 4gb ram, should go 6gb instead?

q2: upgrading hd ssd make lot of difference when working smallish (max 14mb) raw files camera (olympus stylus 1)?

q3: should upgrade mountain lion (or later) if i'd prefer use pixelmator (which needs os x support raw files, in case minimum ml) instead of gimp (which fine sl)?

advice appreciated!

ssd best bet...

well ssd provide best overall system upgrade , should run ok, model has sata 1.5 connection severely restrict read/write speeds. limit performance increase not better 7200rpm spinning drive although feel more snappy.

6gb of ram more in having more things open , within specific apps (ie photoshop) utilise lot of ram.

honest @ 8 years old can't in conscience reccomend upgrades, cost of upgrades waste of money. still old computer obsolete components , never perform in league of modern laptop.

also, of course @ age suffer catastophic logic board failure @ time....

if still want go ahead website give full system information , suggestions on need upgrade...
