iPad iPad Air naked? Case? Sleeve?

using ipad air apple leather case, stored in skeeve @ home. when journey out ipad, ipad in leather case , sleeve goes waxed canvas shoulder bag. weight beginning me, both in terms of travel , or home , office use. in other words, tend shy away using ipad.

if anything, should using ipad air more , iphone 6 less, given visual issues

thought iphone 6 plus replace 6, hand feels stretched holding it, , increase in screen size, while significant, not lead appreciable difference in scrolling , pinching, given vision.

therefore, rethinking how use ipad both @ home in terms of lightening load. given this, safe use ipad air naked, @ home or in office? should ditching apple leather case in favor of sleeve? there sleeves handles? might viable , safe?
