Stay on Mavericks? Upgrade to Yosemite?

just got late 2013 (2.4ghz, 4gb, 128ssd) retina macbook pro (my first mac notebook), came mavericks. should stick it, or update yosemite? concerns following:

1. battery life: yosemite take toll on in way? mavericks boosted macbooks, don't want see going in other direction.
2. stability of ui: overall mavericks pretty fluid, there's occasional stutters in safari or whatnot - people encountering more ui stutters on yosemite?
3. speed: performance differences (launching apps, loading things, actual processes) between mavericks , yosemite?

trying see consensus @ point, or whether people waiting yosemite bugs worked out. thanks!

1. battery life same, perhaps bit better once gets indexed.

2. startup/shut down bit quicker mavericks.

3. no noticeable difference between 2 in launching app's
