Question about Yosemite folders

i'd know if else encountered this, in cases little grey triangle/arrow (i have no idea it's called - can see in 1 of attachments added) on left side of folder not showing. it's triangle click on same action option+down arrow, open folder stay in 'main' folder. short key (option+down arrow) not work folders don't have grey arrow/triangle next it.

doesn't show in 'downloads folder', in sub-folders of 'downloads folder' show. case external hd's.
'grey triangle/arrow' show in itunes, pictures, movies & documents folder.

find quite annoying , wondering if new thing yosemite or happens me.

so, happens in download folder & external hard drives (mac format).

did third clean install in 4 weeks, nothing changes. other yosemite seems work quite alright, although seem prefer mavericks bit more former.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
