Intel CEO Responds to Rumors of ARM-Based Macs, Says Relationship With Apple Is 'Strong'

intel ceo brian krzanich appeared today on cnbc's squawk box talk financial future of technology company. following discussions intel's disappointing q1 forecast , flat pc sales, cnbc anchor betsy quick questioned executive rumors apple may drop intel chips mac computers in favor of own processors.

unfazed questioning, krzanich toed company line, revealing no new information future of intel's relationship apple , calling "strong" one.

in latest report, kgi securities analyst ming-chi kuo offered the prediction apple may launch arm-based macs in next few years. in scenario, apple replace intel chips uses custom designed a-series chip, allowing company better time processor upgrades new product launches. apple last year forced delay major product launches across macbook air , macbook pro lineup, offering minor processor bumps due delays in intel's broadwell processors.

rumors of apple's interest in arm-based macs not new, earlier reports suggesting apple has developed arm-based prototypes of imac, mac mini, , 13-inch notebook model. if rumor pans out time, switchover arm processor target low-end machines benefit low battery consumption of arm-based architecture. future expansion may possible improvements in apple's a-series processor begin rival performance of intel's entry-level offerings.

Error installing Key Agent drivers in Windows 7

i reinstalled fresh bootcamp (windows 7 x64) on imac running yosemite. i'm having difficulty installing drivers, had first bypass issue x64bit drivers running through cmd admin errors "service 'key agent/mac hal' (keyagent/machaldrivers) failed start. verify have sufficient privileges start system services." have tried following instructions seemed answer this: i had exact same problem, on 17" mbp. in case, win7 event manager reported bootcamp 3.2 services failed install, in particular keyagent service (and without no apple keyboard , functions , apparently bootcamp icon doesn't show in system tray). event manager said bootcamp installer did not have sufficient permissions, went dial down user account control (uac) settings (in fact, turned off). should have seen when bootcamp 3.2 update running window ask permission continue (allow software install). instead, there silent failure. ok, turning off uac gives p
