Early 2011 MacBook Pro - trackpad and keyboard freezing

on occasion, partners 2011 macbook pro has issue described in title. characterize recurring because happens every month or , computer has turned off solve issue (power button shut down).

did spill glass of water on couple of years ago , apple warned see problems 1 day because logic board corrosion. i'm interested in fixing issue , have 2 questions experience:

1) in canada, new logic board cost i5 model? suspect issue because both our computers run 10.9.5 , mine has no issues.

2) on kijiji, computer sells between 600 , 1200 pending modifications. since 1 stock, i'd put around 800 range, maybe lower since has done poor job taking care of (dent on bottom, noticeable scratch on lid, , of course water). make more sense wait logic board failure , replace or sell is?

help.
 

ask apple "flat rate repair". less quoted price logic board replacement.

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
