Ran Onyx, Stuck on grey screen

this blows. downloaded latest version of onyx yosemite , ran it. after restarting, progress bar gives halfway , stuck on no progress icon/grey screen. tried every solution on web no luck.

restoring via two-week old tm backup, i'm upset losing important data. if download app, tread carefully.
 

what did run? i've used onyx since forever (and currently, 10.10); outside of issue of not being able (yet) check smart status, seems work always...

worth keeping eye on tho...

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
