ow to recover from 'INSTALLER LOG SHARED BUFFER IS FUL' during Yosemite install/upgra

my macbook pro out of commission boot yosemite install process cannot completed successfully. learned (after fact) of install issues related homebrew helpful article found out cmd-l open log viewer.

i've had 2 unsuccessful installs now. first took 5+ hours. since taking long, left running on night log viewer running. awoke failed install 'line 128,493 - installer log shared buffer ful' last output in log viewer. figured maybe actual log viewer causing issue, alas second attempt failed , had log viewer open briefly part way through process. without log viewer running, hit same errror (i didn't check line number though...)

there way can reenable mavericks move files around in preparation install? don't have hardware mount laptop target disk - if brought machine apple store let me mount mbp , move stuff around minimize install process? else have suggestions?

(sorry, semi-cross post - posted apple's community forums yosemite, they're getting more new post per minute @ moment. i'm hoping more technical community might affected same issue. follow along there @ https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6603910 )

edit: somehow title got borked , can't edit it.. sorry
