with yesterday's announcements of replacements (upgrade doesn't seem right word use) i'm in bit of pickle. need mac ios development it's living , don't have 1 @ home.
strictly ios development , literally nothing else better machine? 2.3/2.6 quad i7 2012 or newer 3.0 i7 yesterday? assume both have 16gb ram , ssd.
around $1400 can late 2012 model , max out. i'd max out current mini @ apple store close same cost assuming can't diy upgrade memory , storage. if can diy prefer.
i've been considering building hackintosh well. know 2012 model maxed out little beast of dev station it's use @ work. don't want ripped off apple tax.
haven't seen official benchmarks maybe right answer wait until have actual benchmarks. differences might not great when factor in newer hardware containing (hopefully) improvements. nor have heard remotely official how upgradeable wouldn't shocked if soldered on.
thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
* nothing else have beast of windows gaming machine other stuff do. don't want imac b/c don't have desk space monitor.
in opinion quad core benefices programming. 1 of few areas multicore seems advised. fast
