What happened to my 13" MBA screen?

i took video of booting here on screen failure. appears have shifted top 1/3 of screen or bottom, top 2/3s permanent glitch, , bottom 1/3, when gets log in icons in osx, still reverts apple symbol seen during boot. sort of jumps , forth between current , old image.

i'm hoping diagnose if it's screen failure, logic board failure, video ram failure, loose cable, etc. can price out self repair options , decide do. have looked @ many photos , stories of screen failures , solves, have not managed locate failure looks one. can't find similar.

know isn't os because problem exists before os has booted. have cleared parameter ram.

laptop has been on shelf month - put away working, came out this. no drops or impacts, in case.

banging on/twisting laptop not change display in way, don't think it's simple loose or grungy connection.

seems gpu thats failing still have kind of warranty left?

New 2014 Mac Mini as living room media unit... general questions :)

hi everyone, relatively new apple world (came on android/windows) can impressed , happy made switch hoping insight experts here new setup. got new 2014 mini our living room media unit (will playing music, netflix, movies, internet browsing etc) - havent hooked yet. have 2 bookshelf speakers, 1 sub woofer, , center speaker sound setup goes avr, , of course flat screen tv. 1) question -- mini support 2.1 sound via hdmi avr? losing audio quality or audio features using mac mini? 2) internet browsing, there app or interface make ui better fit living room tv? i've read font/icons can hard read if enlarge them because mac mini not meant big tv? 3) plan plex server , plex media player mac mini, other loading movie/tv collection , playing off tv, there else cool missing here can this? 4) if have mac mini media unit, there purpose in owning roku @ point? thank you!!   ...
