iMessage Down for Some Users, Unrelated to iOS 8.1.1 Update [Update: Fixed]

following launch of ios 8.1.1 , os x yosemite 10.10.1, appears apple's servers having issues imessage. multiple users on twitter , other social networking platforms reporting imessage down, , macrumors has confirmed messages appear hanging quite time before sending, while others not delivered.

currently, apple's system status page not reporting imessage outages, , users appear experiencing no issues @ all.

imessage issue not result of ios 8.1.1 update, users have yet update reporting problems. outage temporary, service restored shortly.

update: apple has documented outage, affected "some" imessage users, on system status page. outage lasted 90 minutes , fixed 11:30 pacific time.
