How to Fix Picture Quality on an External Monitor to Mac Mini Over HDMI

i wanted connect 2012 mac mini mavericks server hp lp2475w monitor @ 1920x1200 on hdmi when connected hdmi-to-hdmi, text on screen looked blurry. problem, seems, mac mini fails differentiate between external monitor , external hdtv. failure forces mac mini output 1080p on hdmi. text looks blurry because resolution incorrect. after little digging on web, found working solution.


download file “patch-edid.rb” here
copy file “patch-edid.rb” , move/paste in home folder
*find home folder opening finder - select go - home

open terminal (finder - go - utilities - double click terminal)
type "ruby patch-edid.rb" (without quote marks)
create file in home folder

move folder following location:
system - library - displays - overrides
*to see system folder, finder select go - home

turn off mac.
turn off monitor.
turn on monitor.
turn on mac.

turning off monitor necessary step or solution not work.

ps--i have not tested on os x 10.10 yosemite.
 

what other inputs in monitor?

i looked monitor, use displayport. think there dp -> mini display port. otherwise use dvi, mac shhould have come adapter

Error installing Key Agent drivers in Windows 7

i reinstalled fresh bootcamp (windows 7 x64) on imac running yosemite. i'm having difficulty installing drivers, had first bypass issue x64bit drivers running through cmd admin errors "service 'key agent/mac hal' (keyagent/machaldrivers) failed start. verify have sufficient privileges start system services." have tried following instructions seemed answer this: i had exact same problem, on 17" mbp. in case, win7 event manager reported bootcamp 3.2 services failed install, in particular keyagent service (and without no apple keyboard , functions , apparently bootcamp icon doesn't show in system tray). event manager said bootcamp installer did not have sufficient permissions, went dial down user account control (uac) settings (in fact, turned off). should have seen when bootcamp 3.2 update running window ask permission continue (allow software install). instead, there silent failure. ok, turning off uac gives p
